Condensation curing organic silicon products will cure after contacting the moisture in atmosphere. Curing starts from the outside to the inside, full curing requires a long period of time. Curing time depends on reaction mechanism and material viscosity. Under 25℃ and 50% relative humidity, full curing will normally take 24-48 hours. It will take 7 days to obtain complete physical property such as electrical performance.

Is there any restriction on the thickness of condensation curing products?

As for single-component condensation curing products, the curing depth shall not exceed 6mm. As for two-component condensed curing products, the curing depth shall not exceed 25mm.

Ways to accelerate the curing speed of single-component organic silicon ?

The curing speed of condensation curing organic silicon depends on environment humidity, silicone gel thickness and temperature. To increase relative humidity and decrease used thickness can effectively shorten the curing time. To properly enhance the temperature (not more than 50℃) can also reduce the curing time slightly, but the effect is not as significant as that of increasing relative humidity and decreasing thickness.

What is the mechanism for addition curing type?

Addition curing type organic silicon is divided into single component and two-component. Normally, it required heated curing. It can cure at room temperature, but high temperature can greatly accelerate curing. Generally, the formula of single component organic silicon products is added with inhibitor. Only when the temperature is high enough to invalidate the inhibitor, curing reaction can be started.
